中秋卡拉OK大赛报名开始了！Karaoke!

一年一度的杜克中文卡拉OK大赛又回来了！自DCSSA在2005年成立以来，每年一届、从未间断的中秋卡拉OK大赛，已经毫无争议地成为整个杜克华人社区最受期待、最多掌声、最扣人心弦的校园盛事。在这个把耳朵叫醒、为心情充电的季节，新同学们，请不要吝惜你们的热情；老朋友们，大家久等了！
正式比赛将在9月25日晚举行。杜克社区的所有成员（学生、学者、家属、工作人员），无论是否华人，均可参加。所有参赛者将获得精美礼品；正式比赛的前三名将分别获得现金价值$100、$50、$25的礼品奖励。前三名获奖者将代表杜克参加将在11月举行的北卡三角三校联合华人才艺大赛。

报名流程：
一，请在 http://dukechina.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/The_Registration_Form.doc下载报名表，填写个人信息和演唱曲目，并在9月15日23:59:59之前发送到dcssakaraoke@gmail.com.
二，在9月18日，所有报名选手将参加预赛。预赛将由历届冠军和专业音乐人进行公平、公正、客观的筛选。预赛的前十名将获得资格参加中秋之夜的正式公开比赛。
注意事项：
1、请选择歌词中不包含其他语言的纯中文歌曲。
2、为了方便管理，报名的邮件请以“2010_singer_(your name)”格式命名。
3、每位报名者请选择一首正式曲目和一首备用曲目。如果在你提交报名表时，正式曲目已经被其他参赛者选用了，那么我们将采用你的备用曲目作为你的演唱曲目。
4、参赛选手需要自备伴奏音频文件，在预赛前提供给我们。我们也允许现场伴奏。
5、如果你有任何特别的需要，请与我们联系，我们会尽力提供语言或技术上的支持。
6、原则上，预赛不对外公开。但是我们欢迎参赛者的朋友或家人到场打气加油！

The 6th annual Duke Karaoke in Chinese Contest honoring Mid-Autumn Festival is coming! Established in 2005, this annual event, sponsored by Duke Chinese Students and Scholars Association, has become one of the most influential entertainments in Duke Chinese community. Moreover, in recent years, an increasingly number of Chinese language learners have been realizing the beauty in Chinese music. It is a true amazing experience to sing in Chinese on stage during one of the most important Chinese traditional festivals, Mid-Autumn Festival, which can date back over 3,000 years.

The public contest will be held on September 25th, 2010, at Love Auditorium, Levine Sciences Research Center. Registration to participate in contest is free; every singer that registers and attends to the pre-selection will receive a gift. Prizes of $100, $50 and $25 in cash value will be awarded to the top three winners in the formal public contest, respectively. Moreover, the top three will win opportunity to perform on the Triangle Area Chinese Talent Show 2010!

To sign-up and become a singer in Duke Karaoke in Chinese Contest, please take the following steps:

First, please download the registration form from (http://dukechina.org/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/The_Registration_Form.doc), fill in your personal information and your Chinese songs of choice, and send to dcssakaraoke@gmail.com before September 15th, 23:59:59.

Notes:
1. The definition of Chinese song in this contest is that lyrics include no other languages but Chinese.
2. Please name your email following the format “2010_singer_(your name)”.
3. Each singer will sing only one song in this contest, and no two singers may sing the same song. To avoid conflicts of selection, we require each singer to provide 2 songs of selection in order. If your first selection is already reserved by another singer, we will take your second selection. Still, please hurry to make sure you can perform your favorite!

Second, a pre-selection will be held on September 18th. Winners of former contests and musical professionals will be there to evaluate all the participants’ performances. The top ten singers will win their chances to enter the public contest on Mid-Autumn Festival.

Notes:
1. We generally don’t advocate pre-selection to the mass public, but feel free to bring your family and friends!
2. You should prepare and provide us your audio file of accompaniment. Alternatively, you may bring friends to play instruments, or feel free to play by yourself.
3. Please let us know if you need help finding an accompaniment or if you have any special technical needs before the pre-selection. We will try to provide support to your performance accordingly.
